Joint mobilisation is a hands on therapy to improve joint mobility, relieve pain, and restore function to stiff or restricted joints. It involves applying controlled, passive movements to the joint a stretch surrounding soft tissues, improve the flow of joint fluid, and restore the joint's normal mechanics. The technique uses small oscillatory movements within or beyond the joint's range of motion, with the intensity varying depending on the patient's condition and the degree of stiffness or pain.
